LOWER PHARMACEUTICAL COSTS TO CONSUMERS SIX WAYS

Reduce pharmaceutical costs to consumers by:

  1. Allowing customers to purchase pharmaceuticals from other countries (80% of the ingredients are manufactured abroad),
  2. Providing for the government to negotiate the price of Medicare cover drugs,
  3. “Fast tracking” approval of cheaper generic drugs,
  4. Providing public R&D for development of new drugs,
  5. Banning pharmaceuticals that only modify existing medicines without improving clinical benefits,
  6. Adjusting pricing according to effectiveness.

B-Partisan efforts oppose any solution.  Both Democrats and Republicans refuse to pass legislation to reduce consumers’ pharmaceutical costs.
