BONUSES FOR CREATING ILLEGAL ACCOUNTS: 3.5 MILLION SO FAR

Add to that Republicans’ and Trump administration efforts to eliminate Consumer Financial Bureau. And the revelation: Without their knowledge or permission, signing up 528,000 customers for online bill paying “services”.

Additional accusations of wrong doing include “withholding refunds some car loan customers were due and charging some customers for auto insurance  they did not need”, plus “making unauthorized charges to loans of borrowers in bankruptcy (which it has denied) and charging customers fee to extend applications that it [the bank] delayed (a matter the bank said it was looking into).” This is the story of Wells Fargo Bank.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is investigating further. Establishment of the Bureau was met with Republican charges of “tyranny”.
